Timoleague Tidy Towns - Gold winner 2025
Congratulations to the fantastic Timoleague Tidy Towns committee on securing a Gold Medal Award in the 2025 SuperValu Tidy Towns Competition! This remarkable achievement is a tribute to the community’s year-round commitment.
The official Adjudication Report for 2025 gave high praise to the committee's work, noting: “Thank you all so much for the great work that has been done and is ongoing in Timoleague. It is really wonderful to see such improvements over the space of a few years. The National School and Educational Gardens are real stand-outs but overall this was a great showing for Timoleague.”
The report also highlights the role our pupils and staff played, marking the school as a key feature of Timoleague's success:
-
Exceptional School Garden: The adjudicator was deeply impressed, stating: “A special mention has to be made for the school garden. This is truly outstanding work. The adjudicator has probably seen hundreds of school gardens but this is up with the very best. It is so creative, interesting and well laid-out. Congratulations to you all.”
-
The Educational Garden: Our partnership with Tidy Towns and GIY was highlighted as “a stand-out feature, providing a public space for nature learning in partnership with the National School and GIY.”
-
Sustainability & Green Initiatives: Our pupils are leading the way in environmental action, with the report noting: “The school’s new solar panels are helping to reduce energy use, while partnerships like the Re Return bottle initiative and the Educational Garden’s emphasis on reusing and recycling are making a clear difference.” Furthermore, the school “plays an active role through Picker Pals and has earned its Green Flag award.”
-
Community Support: The entire school community was recognised for its involvement, with the report mentioning: “The commitment of your committee, your volunteers, and your wider community was very evident during my visit. I was particularly pleased to see how your younger residents are being engaged, especially through the school and various local partnerships.”
Well done again to the Tidy Towns committee! We are proud that our pupils are helping to build on past achievements and make Timoleague an even more beautiful and vibrant place for the future.
