There is huge excitement and pride across the school today as both our girls' and boys' football teams were crowned Sciath na Scol West Cork Champions!
This historic double victory comes right on the back of our recent Sciath na Scol hurling success, marking an unforgettable year for sport in our school. Both teams fought incredibly hard in their respective finals today, showing immense determination, skill, and sportsmanship to secure two hard fought victories.
The day started with a fantastic, send off from all the pupils at the school, and the atmosphere reached fever pitch upon their return as the teams arrived back through the gates proudly lifting the cups!
An achievement of this scale takes a team effort behind the scenes. We want to extend a thank you to Mr. Mennis for his fantastic coaching, and guidance of both squads, and to Helen for all her invaluable help and support on the sidelines today. We also extend our sincere gratitude to Argideen Rangers for all their incredible support, and for their dedication to coaching and developing these players at club level. Sincere thanks also to the class teachers for their continuous support and flexibility.
We are grateful to the organisers of the Sciath na Scol WC competition for putting together such a wonderful, smooth running finals day. Finally, a massive thank you to all the parents, families, and pupils who travelled to support the teams so loudly today, your encouragement from the sidelines made all the difference.
