Green Schools Committee Presentation
Our Green Schools Committee recently delivered a fantastic presentation to all classes, highlighting our theme: Global Citizenship Energy
The committee informed pupils about our goal to significantly reduce energy consumption both here at school and in our homes, emphasising that these local actions contribute to a vital global effort to combat climate change.
The presentation reminded everyone of the important habits we've already adopted:
-
Turn it Off: Ensuring lights and monitors are switched off when not in use.
-
Close the Door: Keeping heat inside by closing doors and windows.
-
Reduce Waste: Continuing our efforts towards reducing, reusing, and recycling.
Our New 'C.I.T.I.Z.E.N.' Goals
The committee presented their clear and powerful set of new citizen goals to guide our efforts. This acronym helps everyone remember how they can make a difference:
| Goal | Action |
| Change | Change your habits: turn off lights, monitors, and heat. |
| Investigate | Investigate where your energy comes from, and its global impact. |
| Teach | Teach your family and friends to be energy-wise global citizens. |
| Insulate | Insulate and seal drafts to stop heat from escaping the building. |
| Zero | Aim for Zero waste and Zero unnecessary energy use. |
| Everywhere | Be energy efficient Everywhere: in school, at home, and in the community. |
| Now | Now is the time to act—to protect our planet for the future. |
Let's all work together to achieve these goals and remember our Green Schools Code: 'Saving Energy is Legendary!'
