Green School Flag Success
We were proud to welcome our local Green Schools Officer to our school today for our 7th Green Flag renewal visit, focusing on Global Citizenship: Energy.
The Green Schools Committee delivered an outstanding presentation, detailing two years of hard work. They impressed the Officer with their deep knowledge of how our energy habits affect the global climate, showcasing everything from our energy reduction data to our school wide awareness campaigns.
The committee guided the Officer through our school actions to demonstrate how we have successfully embedded the Green Schools 7 Steps:
-
Committee: Introducing our pupil led team.
-
Environmental Review: Explaining how we audited our energy use.
-
Action Plan: Outlining our targets for reducing energy consumption.
-
Monitoring & Evaluation: Showing our progress charts and energy logs.
-
Curriculum Work: Sharing how energy themes are taught in class.
-
Informing & Involving: Highlighting our work at school and with the wider community.
-
Green Code: Reciting our pledge to protect the planet.
The Officer praised the committee’s leadership and the "exceptional" quality of their work. Well done to the whole school community for helping us move one step closer to flying our 7th Green Flag.
