We are delighted to announce that we were successful in our application to take part in the BLAST Initiative. The aim of this scheme is to give more pupils in schools all over the country the opportunity to work with a professional artist on unique projects to be originated and planned between the artist, the teacher and the school.
Artist Barbara Becker will be Mrs. O’Donovan’s 3rd & 4th class artist in residence as part of the BLAST initiative. The general idea behind BLAST as the acronym suggests (Bringing Living Artist to Teachers and Students) is to continue to brings the arts to our pupils. It is a fun, vibrant and memorable experience. The techniques used will include watercolour resist, pastel, collage, acrylic hard-edge painting, pencil drawing, simple printing, and tinwork. The programme will run for 7 weeks.
