Baking in 3rd class
A wonderful scent has been wafting from the 3rd Class room recently. The pupils have been busy bakers, whipping up delicious apple and cinnamon buns.
This wasn't just a tasty treat; it was a fantastic, hands-on learning experience linked directly to the curriculum:
-
Following Instructions: Baking requires careful attention to the recipe, reinforcing the vital skill of literacy and accurately following sequential instructions, a key element across many subjects.
-
Maths in Action: The students were putting their numeracy skills to practical use, particularly in Measurement. They used scales to accurately weigh ingredients and measured liquids, seeing firsthand how important precision is in real-world applications.
