3rd Class Hands on Geography and Science
24th Feb 2026
Our 3rd Class have been busy exploring the world beneath our feet. To bring their Science and Geography lessons to life, the students took a hands-on approach to learning about the Earth’s structure.
Using different colours of play dough, the children constructed detailed 3D models to visualise the four main layers of our planet:
-
The Inner Core: The super-heated center.
-
The Outer Core: The liquid metal layer.
-
The Mantle: The thickest layer of hot rock.
-
The Crust: The thin, rocky surface we call home!
This tactile activity was a fantastic way for the pupils to understand the scale and composition of the Earth while showing off their creative skills.
