This week our 3rd Class pupils got hands-on with a very messy, very fascinating substance: Oobleck!
As part of their science lesson on materials, the children mixed cornflour and water to create this famous "Non-Newtonian" fluid. The highlight of the lesson was discovering its strange properties, it acts like a solid when you squeeze it tight, but flows like a liquid as soon as you let go!
This experiment was a fantastic way for the pupils to explore the states of matter while practicing their prediction and observation skills.
