The Woodie’s Budding Gardeners children’s gardening project involves a class creating a small class garden and follow three progressive phases of SOW IT, GROW IT & SHOW IT.
1st class eagerly commenced their project back in March with Valerie and Ms Kelly. Working within the constraints of 1.5m x 1.5m space, they have worked really hard creating a themed garden.
The garden theme incorporates the Four Elements. The class was divided into four groups Earth, Wind/Air, Fire, Water. Each group worked together and had a brainstorm of what is their element, what does it look like, feel like, colours that come to mind. Each group then designed their space thinking about plants/flowers/materials that would represent their element. Plants/flowers were sown and grown in the polytunnel and then planted in their new beds. 1st Class are taking care of their space, watering their plants/flowers and watching their element come to life!
